Committee meeting notes
18 March 2010
Delayed meeting. The meeting date was changed from 11 March to ensure the Chair could attend.
Photo competition. Competition organiser Ian Thompson reported that 233 photos from 44 entrants had been entered in this year's competition. Chair John Wells noted that even though there were fewer entrants than last year, the artistic quality of the photos was very high. It was felt that the revamped categories for this year had worked well.
Inlet pathway. There has been pleasing progress since the last committee meeting. The development plans have now been signed off, although some concerns about the exact route and the height of the pathway above the road remain.
Cockle survey. The committee discussed preliminary plans for the organization of the cockle survey on 21 November.
Charitable status. The committee heard a report on the possibility of changing from an incorporated society to a charitable organization. We expect to be able to put the proposal to members this year.
Education resources. A major push to develop new resources, coordinated by Wendy Edwards, is to be made in the coming months. A planning meeting was to be held the week after the committee meeting.
Website. It was reported that visits to the new website continue to increase. Guardians webmaster Beverly Fairfax and developer Matt Gunn are now helping Plimmerton Residents Association to develop their new site.
Change of treasurer. Julian Powell was replaced by Dick Fernyhough but remains on the committee. Chair John Wells thanked Julian for his work as treasurer.
Next committee meeting - 22 April 2010
